Our German Shepherd Dams

For over 55 years, our family at Silver Mountain Shepherds has been devoted to raising German Shepherds that embody beauty, intelligence, and loyalty. Our specialty lies in the rare and captivating Silver German Shepherds, known for its striking coat, gentle temperament, and exceptional versatility.

While silver is our primary color focus, we also occasionally welcome black, sable, white, and multicolor German Shepherds into our breeding program. Each dog we raise reflects our unwavering dedication to health, structure, and sound temperament — ensuring that every puppy, regardless of color, represents the best of the breed.

At Silver Mountain Shepherds, our commitment goes far beyond breeding. We prioritize the well-being, happiness, and longevity of every dog. Our dames are bred sparingly — no more than once a year, and sometimes we skip entire seasons — to ensure they remain healthy, well-balanced, and full of life. This careful approach allows our Shepherds to thrive both physically and emotionally.

Set on 3,700 acres in south-central Idaho, our dogs live surrounded by open skies and rolling fields, where they are free to roam, play, and explore. Our Shepherds are never confined to kennels except during breeding. Instead, they live naturally, as part of our family, developing the confident and loving personalities that define the Silver Mountain Shepherds name.

We warmly invite you to visit our Idaho ranch and meet our beloved “herd of love bugs” in person. Watching our silver, black, sable, white, and multicolor German Shepherds running joyfully across the land is the best way to experience the care and devotion we pour into every one of them.

Beyond breeding, we are passionate about supporting German Shepherd rescues. We’re continually improving our facilities to help dogs in need and welcome donations or supplies such as veterinary equipment, kenneling materials, or food. Every contribution helps us continue giving these incredible dogs the lives they deserve.
