Kay Laton

I have two of your fabulous Shepherds. Rio now 4 yrs old is a white shepherd
Silver Mountain saved when she was only a few weeks old. She is a lovely sweet
natured charmer and a great grounding influence on her adopted “brother”.

As you may recall, I first got Rio then a few months later I drove up again and
Rio picked out Rob-Roy from a Silver Mountain litter as her dog buddy. (Rob-Roy
was the puppy she didn’t growl at and that didn’t bark at or nip her) Rob was
just between 14 and 15 weeks old the day I picked him up.

Rob-Roy who recently turned 2 is a traffic stopper, my self-appointed body guard
and an 80lb lap dog all rolled into one. Oh and he is also my shadow at home.
Where I go Rob goes.

Because of his intense black, tan and silver markings people frequently stop to
talk to me when I have him out in the car or on the lead. During a recent solo
vet visit the 8 staff members on duty walked to the holding area with me to
watch as I retrieved him from a holding pen. One of the technicians said “he
walks like water flows” and another said he was “kinetic and striking.”
My vet says he is a fine example of sound breeding. Wondering how smart he is?
Let’s just say I no longer have lever handles on any door in my house because
2 days after I brought him home he began opening doors with a paw to the lever
so every door got new handles.

The dogs Silvermoutain Shepherds breed and rehome are beautiful, bright pleasant
and well civilized. They are my nearly constant companions when I am not at
work.

Rio is everyone’s sweetheart. She gets called “angel” or “princess” a
lot thanks to her snowy white coloring and quiet well mannered behavior. One
of the vets who works with my twosome told me Rio is the sweetest natured
shepherd in their practice. The loving care Rio received for the nearly 2
years she fostered at Silvermountain no doubt helped shape her winning
personality.

I’ve disappointed a number of people who found my dogs so appealing they
solicited purchase of a puppy from any future litter involving either dog. Rob
and Rio are my friends and companions and therefore neutered and spayed. My
answer to shocked comments like “How could you do that when they are so
beautiful?!” is “I leave breeding to the experts like Paul and Ann.”
So I tell those who want shepherds as wonderful as Rob and Rio that they need to
contact you or schedule a visit.
